Global IoT Mobility: A Path Based Forwarding Approach

چکیده
With the huge proliferation of mobile Internet Things (IoT) devices such as connected vehicles, drones, and healthcare wearables, IoT networks are promising connectivity capacity far beyond conventional computing platforms. The success this service provisioning is highly dependent on flexibility offered by enabling technologies to support mobility using different protocol stacks. Many autonomous, resource constrained, which poses additional challenges for communication. Therefore, given unique requirements applications, many still be addressed. This paper presents a global management solution that can handle both micro macro scenarios. exploits path-based forwarding fabric together with mechanisms from Information-Centric Networking. equally suitable legacy session-based emerging information-based sensors. Simulation evaluations have shown minimum overhead in terms packet delivery signalling costs handover across domains.

Distributed Path Reconfiguration and Data Forwarding in Industrial IoT Networks
In today's typical industrial environments, the computation of the data distribution schedules is highly centralised. Typically, a central entity configures the data forwarding paths so as to guarantee low delivery delays between data producers and consumers. However, these requirements might become impossible to meet later on, due to link or node failures, or excessive degradation of their per...
متن کاملPatient Mobility in the Global Marketplace: A Multidisciplinary Perspective
There is a growing global market in healthcare and patients. And while there is a small body of evidence emerging around this phenomenon commonly known as medical tourism there remain significant unanswered policy and research questions which need to be addressed. We outline some of the key issues set against the six key disciplinary preoccupations of the journal: epidemiology, health economics...
متن کاملTopology Dissemination Based on Reverse-Path Forwarding (TBRPF)
Topology Dissemination Based on Reverse-Path Forwarding (TBRPF) is a proactive, link-state routing protocol designed for mobile ad-hoc networks, which provides hop-by-hop routing along shortest paths to each destination. Each node running TBRPF computes a source tree (providing paths to all reachable nodes) based on partial topology information stored in its topology table, using a modification...
متن کاملWhen IoT Keeps People in the Loop: A Path Towards a New Global Utility
While the Internet of Things (IoT) has made significant progress along the lines of supporting individual machinetype applications, it is only recently that the importance of people as an integral component of the overall IoT infrastructure has started to be fully recognized. Several powerful concepts have emerged to facilitate this vision, whether involving the human context whenever required ...
متن کاملA New Network Based Global Mobility Management
MIPv6 [1] and PMIPv6 [2] are the preferred mobility methods to facilitate mobility in IPv6 networks today. Though PMIPv6 is a step forward in the direction towards a network based solution, it is still limited as it is a local mobility management solution as it is impractical to have single Local Mobility Anchors (LMAs) with jurisdiction over networks belonging to different organizations. In th...
